Making a Living on a Small Island
My family and I have lived on this island now for just about 6 years now, and we’re finally starting to get the hang of surviving in this very unique place. I’ve found the key to making it all work in a place like this is to engage in many different avenues of activity. Besides this web business, I have several side projects going on at any given time.
I’m an artist/musician/poet, so I have spent a lot of energy crafting myself in this way. If you’re interested you can check out my artist page at Lightheart.BlueApples.ca. There are plenty of examples of my heartfelt creations available for you all to see, hear and feel – I hope you really enjoy them.
I’ve also studied hypnotic trance induction, sound healing and brainwave entrainment technology the last few years and I have created a series of meditation aid CD’s at Blue Apples Consciousness Evolution using the knowledge that I’ve accumulated in this area. This also lead into working with another project called the Tone Color Alchemy Project, which is a sort of educational community website where members explore and learn about the western hermetic mysteries through the use of music and color. I created the web framework and visual identity as well as contributing my knowledge of hypnosis and brainwave entrainment. We created a set of 12 DVD’s and other hypnotic study tools to help the members to absorb the material with the ease.
In addition to all that, my partner and I own Blue Apples Metaphysical & Wellness here on Gabriola Island, which is a sort of hub for many of our activities. The space is a retail store that sells crystals, books and other metaphysical supplies, we also offer a healing space where clients can make appointments with a variety of healers from a variety of disciplines. We also offer a constant flow of community workshops on subjects such as meditation, yoga, psychic development and basically anything we come across that we find interesting.
I’m always interested in fun co-creative projects, so if you have ideas that you think I may be able to help bring to fruition, please let me know!
